who we like - societies
Societies are the heart and soul of the bead community. They help with research, education and put-on annual shows to help connect artist with patron. Meetings are usually held on a monthly or quarterly schedule, so find a group near you and attend a meeting.

The International Society of Glass Beadmakers is the primary worldwide organization supporting the movement. Check-out their website for resources and information.
Mid-Atlantic Region of the ISGB - www.sgb-midatlantic.org
Covering numerous states, the Mid-Atlantic Region meets each quarter with programs including lectures and presentations.
Bead Society of Greater Washington (BSGW) - www.bsgw.org
The BSGW has a rich history of supporting bead artists and collectors all over the world. Particular expertise can be found at the BSGW on the origin and composition of anciet works. Members of the BSGW were key in the founding and now the administration and development of the Bead Museum Washington DC.
Northern Virginia Bead Society (NVBS) - www.nvbs.info
One of the best shows in the Region is run by the NVBS each year in Vienna, VA. Great meetings and a chance to mix with beadmakers from beginner to expert.

Three Rivers Glass Beadmakers (3RGB)
This group is very active and located in the Pittsburg, PA area. Sponsor classes and are producing some of the up-and-coming glass beadmakers in the ISGB.

These folks cover the Tidewater area of Virginia. Good things happening there and often participate in activites up in the Washington DC area.
